I’ve never told anyone this (mostly because I just thought of a way to describe this), but when I see things that really make me happy, my mind sends out millions of invisible mono-filament tendrils that wrap lovingly around things regardless of whether or not they have any shape or form. This is a wholly internal sensation, and elicits little to no outward espression if there is anyone else in the room. If I am alone, my teeth expand bigger than my mouth in order to hold back the sheer glee that is audibly expressed as something that can only be described as a strained squeel. The remaining wash of this mental orgasm expands from the back of my cortex, flowing quickly down my spinal column and comes to rest in my stomach, heart and upper palate. or something like that.

I feel like David OReilly is someone who just gets bigger and bigger, yet still manages to remain human. I really admire that about him. One of these days it would be nice to sit down with him over a beer or two. I’m not the biggest U2 fan, but my first impression of this video and it’s subtleties is very good. Teamed up with designer Jon Klassen, it makes a gorgeous visual paired with some heart string moments.

I’m really enjoying it when I see what other people are doing with the Stratastencil look. Even if it’s just in after effects, it still has a nice motion graphics appeal. Alexander Perry has done a music video using the concept, and he did a great job of exploring some avenues that I’d been curious about. Visual representations of musical cues, Selective usage of the outermost negative space, and Free Floating objects to name a few.
